Hi y’all! I’m just a lover of zoos and all the work they do for conservation of animals and plants! My sister is a wildlife photographer. I grew up frequenting the San Diego Zoo and worked there for a summer at the Sabertooth Grill and the Exit gift shops. I am in the Seattle area now and love visiting Woodland Park with my wife. We gotta go see the little snow leopards soon. As you can tell by my username, I am a big fan of hippos and still have a little hippo stuffie purchased at the San Diego Zoo in the 90s that I carried around as a toddler. I’ve been lurking in the North American Common Hippo Population thread for a few months now looking for news as Woodland Park’s hippo exhibit has been phased out, and the news that Lupe transferred to SDZ made me so happy I decided to make an account. I’ll probably still just lurk for hippo news, but wanted to be able to tell y’all I have really really appreciated all the hippo news the last few months. Looking forward to seeing what this new hippo era at San Diego brings!
