Hello!

I am the wuffle penguin, a new member to zoochat. I have a great passion and interest in zoos all around the world, starting from Singapore’s Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Nice to meet all of you!

One question 1 have however, is when they say [species (1,0,0)] what does this mean? This seems quite central to exhibit forming, and i would like to learn more. Thanks in advance for helping me answer this question.

cheers!

It indicates the animals' genders. For example, 1.2.1 means the zoo holds 1 male, 2 females and 1 specimen of unknown/undetermined gender.

To add on sometimes the undetermined gender can either be a juvenile who is too young or an adult that hasn't been sexed yet/not able to be sexed for other reasons

Not sure if I have the right to say this as I've only almost been here for a year, but welcome to zoochat anyways!:)
