Hello, my name is Geoffrey. I live in Milton, which is nearest to Mogo Zoo of any of the zoos. I have always loved zoos - I even have a little notebook where I write any changes and things - and was delighted to discover that I was not alone by finding this forum! I have been to Mogo, Taronga, Melbourne, Werribee, Healesville, Western Plains, Currumbin, Sea World and quite a few little wildlife parks. I would really like to go to Adelaide, Perth and Monarto. I did work experience at Taronga in February 2006.
 
wow geoff, thats all the same zoos i have been to lol, and i love mogo, i did work expereience down there last year, best time of my life, great charasmatic animals, and same goes with all the staff!

Yeah, don't you hate these old fellas - they usually know what they're talking about, they know how to spell and can string a meaningful sentence together too ;)
 
Hi Geoffrey, Welcome to the forum from one of the "oldies".
I always make notes of animals and changes I have seen when I go round the zoos etc. I have dozens of note books with notes in taken over the years. They are a great use when we are looking back at changes and investments in zoos.
I have done a few major tours of zoos in the UK and Germany this year, hoping to hit at least 80 collections this year again including at least 20 new ones to me.

80 collections! One day I hope to be able to travel abroad, but until then ... 8 government owned zoos and about ten half-decent private ones are all that's on offer here. Sigh!
