Welcome to ZooChat Andrea, looks like you maybe our 2000th member.

Some infromation about zoo's in Italy would be most welcome, enjoy your stay

Welcome!
A pleasure to have you here to tell us about the zoos you know.
Your English is better than that of many of the American and British members :D

Welcome, I hope you enjoy zoochat, are you the only Italian member of zoochat? I can't recall any others...

i don't know if i'm the only italian member, may be. In Italy we don't have a great zoo tradition like england or germany, and our structures start later than other countries to chenge in better.

I think you are quite probably our first Italian member :) Welcome!

Let's start off with the most logical question, what would you consider the 3 best zoo's in Italy (because i've seen just about no pictures of any zoo, and read even fewer reports of any zoo in Italy).

Second question: what would you think are the rarest (in captivity) species in Italian zoo's?

And don't worry your english is not that strong, the british are usually worse at it anyways :)

italia zoos

1) 3 best zoos i've visited in italy: parco faunistico le cornelle (near Bergamo), parco natura viva (near Verona) bioparco of Roma. but i think that almost one zoo is better than theese: fasano safari park in puglia, but i didn't see it .
2) we don't have rare species in our zoo, but in parco faunistico le cornelle you can find white tigers and white lions, bongo antilopes and cheetas, in parco natura viva you can find red pandas and spectacled bears.
if i can i try to post some photos.
bye

Welcome on Zoochat.

Be really nice if you could do regular animal news reports and/or reviews of your experiences.

Andrea,
Can you share with us any information about the elephants of Le Cornelle? Elephant.se lists a single African elephant. The zoo's website pictures four female Asian elephants (possibly the Flavio Togni elephants, which left in 2008 according to Elephant.se). They just acquired female Asian elephant Rupa from Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem. There seem to be several contradictions in the zoo's elephant collection. Can you clarify any of this and perhaps share pictures, as well?
Thank you for the help.
