Help looking for book about Noah's Ark and a Zoo story

I have tried searching every term imaginable but cannot find something and I wondered if any zoochatters could help.

When I was little there were a couple of books I borrowed from the library over and over again.

They were by a British female, I think, illustrator and author.

She wrote animal themed stories including, I think, two volumes on Noah's Ark. In the story Noah is a typical English farmer living in a cottage, ploughing the land with shire horses helped by his sons.

He builds the ark and many animals come to him. The others he picks up sailing around the world including African and Arctic animals who are perching on mountain tops waiting for him to come.

All the pages are richly illustrated including a cut-away view of the ark with all the animals inside.

I am sure the author wrote some other books including one with a snowy zoo and a christmas tree. I seem to remember a beautiful illustration of this.

I hope this rings bells for someone, I'd love to find a copy for nostalgia's sake but can't even begin without a title and author!

Thanks!
