Edinburgh Zoo Help with Bird identification please?

sorry:o, although i read the thread before i obviously needed to recap before the post

but the same still apply perhaps he is fed sepearatley but is still present when other birds are being fed?

that may be the clue, depending on how/what the Ibis are fed.

I would really like to know how he feeds,(or is fed) as he obviously manages somewhow.
 
A male red crowned crane with a very similar missing 1/2 part of its upper beak lives in Prague zoo. He came disabled already from the previous holding (Riga zoo?) around 4 years ago. He gets its food in a deep bucket hang on the fencing. He also forages in its enclosure (a large fenced piece of wet meadow), digs in soft soil and behaves absolutely normal, as long as I can say. He looks to be in a perfect shape, he´s paired with a female that lays eggs each year, but unfortunately no chick hatched so far.
 
I guess this crane too can only feed on grain if it is provided in a deep enough bucket. But like you describe, I can see how it could dig or forage, even manage to bite off vegetation with its 'half beak'.

I'm surprised they haven't done a plastic surgery for it though....
