I know we are all busy but just please remember my dad in your thoughs and prayers today. He is sick again.

Thanks all of y'all - My dad had open heart surgery in 2001 to replacing a leaking heart valve. He was giving a drug during surgery called Trasylol that caused him to have a stroke 5 days later. Since then he has been paralyzed on his left side and had many many complications including many major hospital stays. This time he just had a bad UTI infection that was causing him to hallucinate slightly. They put him in and got rid of it.

Lets see a list of his "highlightss" goes like this:

He had heart problems pre 2001 including stents put in during 1998
Open heart surgery October 2001
Stroke surgery November 2001 which including extensive rehab all the way until March
June 2002 - paralyzed shoulder was drooping and had to have screws to stabilize it
July 2003 - Bee stung him which caused him to have a mini stroke and another hospital stay
December 2004 - He had Pneumonia and his left lung collapsed
August 2006 - he broke his paralyzed left leg transferring. One bone greensticked and the other was complete. They placed a rod in it to stabilize it.
November 2008 - he had hernias at the top and bottom of his stomach junctions repaired by a Da Vinci robot.
January 2009 - Cut his foot transferring.
July 2009 - Bad case of menigitis
April 2010 - had a hernia repaired in his private areas.
April 2011 - Had liver toxicity.
Now - Bad UTI infection

Yet he is still alive. Just thought I would let you guys know the deal.

My dad finally came home today.

When I first made this post he went in with a bad UTI (urinary tract infection) and his kidneys nearly shut down (ongoing effects of Trasylol given during his open heart research it). After 7 or so days in the hospital he came home, but he was very weak. I dropped him 5 times in 4 days and thats more than I have dropped him the entire time he was paralyzed. The worst was transferring him to the toilet and he fell and hit his chest on the tank and bowl. He was badly bruised. We took him back to the hospital where it was found out he had a bad lung infection that nearly turned into Pneumonia.

Luckily he was able to recover (after another week). He has been since then been in inpatient Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation. They were able to build him back to his plateau so I can care for him normally.

Thanks for the thoughts guys.

Just when we got my dad better guys = Saturday I slept all day while my mom and sister drove back to tuscaloosa (where my sister is in school at the University of Alabama) anyway when they returned I had slept unnaturally the entire time like a 14/15 hour unconscious straight sleep.

My mother took me to the ER. I have had asthma since I was a small child will various levels of control through the years. I mean I was able to play competitive American football and baseball, as well as work with cattle, rock climb etc. Anyway she took me to the Emergency room (being it was the middle of the night). I know that for several years I had chronic bronchitis on top of my asthma. A few weeks back I had a case of acute bronchitis that I thought I had beat pretty quickly. Apparently I was ignorning it because of the stress of taking care of my father.

When I arrived at the hospital my white blood cell count was high and my blood oxygen was low. After two breathing treatments and supplemental oxygen they were able to stabilize my numbers. The good news under all the tests an EKG had determined that my heart is healthy. The problem is that I have been diagnosed with COPD at age 25.

Again just another thing to go through but thanks for doing what you guys do best around here. Zoochat on the IPAD or the laptop is a great way to take you mind off of things when you are sick. I feel like ive made a lot of friends here and I am going to need all of your support.

Thanks Tim

Sorry to hear about your family and personal health Problems Tim. can I ask what is COPD I assume the initials for something.
Good luck with any treatment/medication
Dean
