I came across this site when I did a search for zoos who do free vs. protected contact with their elephants. Great convos here, so I joined!
I'm from Cleveland, though I lived in NYC for 3 years and traveled with a circus along the East coast for 2 years where I took care of the animals (domestic, except for a capybara and a crested porcupine). Other than that I've worked on and managed several horse farms and worked at a few dog grooming salons.
I've been going to the Cleveland zoo since I was a kid, but I've never been to any other zoos in Ohio, which is crazy, and I will be rectifying that this year since I got a membership. I have been to the Woodland zoo in Seattle and the Bronx zoo. I think that's it though... ?
I'm very interested in human-animal relationships and plan on doing my graduate work in that field.
