Hi, I've often come to look over the threads here at ZooChat in the past and finally decided to hop in and become a member. I've always been fascinated with wildlife conservation and ecological preservation and I often develop theoretical conservation facilities and techniques that I'm looking forward to adjusting and posting in the Fantasy Zoos of ZooChat. I've always been very persistent and thankfully I've found alot of help from some big names in zoological management and field conservation I guess mostly because they like my go do it attitude or so I've been told because not many young people are interested in the field development to the degree I am, I'll look forward to help I'll get in refining my ideas and also helping others refine theirs.

Welcome to zoochat @RandomConservationist !

I'm kind of curious by what you say here:

When you say "because not many young people are interested in the field development to the degree I am" what do you mean by this ?

I mean that most young people aren't approaching the older generation of zoologist and conservationists and talking to them like I have in the past, If I need a question answered I make sure I fight tooth and nail to track down the right leader in the field for a conversation to answer it, I'm not saying other people don't do this, I'm saying not enough of us do.

There are lessons (both positive and negative) to be learned from the older generation of zoologists and conservationists for sure and in positive terms particularly with those who have a lot of field experience and haven't spent 40 odd years in the ivory tower (though even these can teach us if only as examples of what we must not allow ourselves to become).
