I take it you had never visited your home zoo before then????You forgot to mention the large paddock for the Giraffes,Addax and Blackbuck and the large grass paddocks for the Arabian Camels,Javan Banteng and the one containing Chapmans and Grants Zebra. The zoo was great!!!!! The pygmy hippo enclosure was spacios, and had a large pool. the wolves and hyenas had spacious rocky enclosures. the mandrills had huge climming structures. The tigers had a heavily planted spacious enclosure. the lions had a few trees and lots off grass. the leopard and panther enclosures had huge rocks, trees dens grass and thick buches. the kangaroo/walliby exhibit was a large, grassy paddok and the african bird enclosure was a nice wetland, style exhibit. The bear exhibit, which contained a Asiatic black bear and englands only polar bear, Zara, 23 years old, has rocky cliffs, a water fall and a deep, large saltwater pool. But the highlight of the day was the big cat encounter.
An ablsalotly fab, amazing, astonoshing day out!!!!!![]()
1.1 they came from West Midlands Safari Park. How many banteng are there, where did they originate from?
Well they will be the same as the whatever Howletts and Port Lympne keep as thats where West Mids got them from. Thanks zg, off on a tangent here are they pure Javan banteng or a more typical European zoo mongrel?
Well all will say is the big cat experience is a real show stopper the rest of its pretty good as well.
They have a bull and a cow trust me i`ve seen him close up.are you sure the bantengs were 1.1 to me it looked more like 0.2 or are the animals from the Borneo subspecies (then also the bull has brown skin instead of black).
