Hi Everyone!

Hi,

I'm a recent psychology grad who took a couple of courses in evolutionary and animal psychology. This made me aware of some of the recent tirades zoos in general (which I think are misguided, because they were invaluable to my coursework) and made me want to surround myself with people who like zoos and talking about them. I hope I found the right place.

Welcome wensleydale I thought with your name you where from North Yorkshire UK. I hope you enjoy the ride, at times it can get a bit opinionated but we usually remain pro zoo and still friends.

Alas, I picked my name while I was going through the refrigerator, I am horrible an not creative at picking out internet an alias. My other options were peanut butter, stewed rhubarb, whole milk, cheddar, and broccoli. I finally picked wensleydale as sort of a lame tribute to my mothers (and my) love for Wallace and Grommit. Also, it was the first thing I found in there that wasn't expired. Nice to meet you.

Cheese in CT

You get Wensleydale in Connecticut?!

Yes. But only with figs or cranberries in it, I have yet to find it plain. Maybe if I went back to that place in Cambridge MA where I found the ricotta salata and the Cheshire. Also, I think the cheese is domestic (American made) so I don't think the EU likes us calling it that. Probably the worst offenders in this category are mozzarella and cheddar.

Yes. But only with figs or cranberries in it, and its darned expensive and only comes in little wedges that are saved for special occasions. I have yet to find it plain. Posted this twice by accident, and with only a minor alteration. Shoot. Sorry.

I'm not even sure if cheddar is currently protected because we have loads of cheddars!

I remember going to the dairy in Wensleydale as a kid and getting a whole cheese (not very big).
