hi everyone just thught i'd introduce myself before i start posting. My Names Aled and i live in North Wales. My local zoo is the Welsh Mountain Zoo though i tend to visit Chester Zoo more often.
hi m8 welcome along, we don't hear much of the welsh mountain zoo, they have recently bred persian leopard though and were the first in britain to breed the wedge tailed eagle, what can u tell us about their new reptile house.
i did see that, some of the enclosures are very old and basic, but are things changing, excellent exhibits for chimpanzees, european otter and brown bear do they still have the paddocks near the top of the hill, i think i saw kulan there.
They didn't have any Sarus Cranes when I last visited in 2006.
I agree with ZooMania, the gibbon and spider monkey enclosures are very poor. A new condor aviary was built a year or two ago, so perhaps there are plans to improve the primate exhibits.
The paddocks are still there Kiang, but the kulan aren't. Prezwalski's horses still live there.
neither sarus crane or kulan are at the zoo at the moment. the last kulan died a few years back and the paddock is ow empty. i remember a cranes species a few years back but i dont remember what species
