Yes we are three weeks into spring now, our average winter temps in winter are about 24c -25c at midday in Brisbane :)

Oh how I envey you, as you know our winters are cold. We emigrated from England 31 years ago and I loved the winter when our children were small but as you get older icy sidewalks become more a hazard than fun. A friend with a farm in New Brunswick had a very hard frost last night, from the photos you would think it was snow. Oh well that is Canada and I do like it here.:)

When I was in Canada a few years ago I made sure I was there in the summer with some days reaching 40c, I made sure I was back before winter hit as I do know how cold it can get there :D, LOL :)

Never have actually seen snow, but I guess over there you mghit be seeing some now!

Welcome to ZooBeat Sakura!! Another Canadian is wonderful for this forum, as we lag behind the Brits and Aussies.

Thank you Snow Leopard, everyone is very friendly. It is interesting to see the variety of threads, not just on Zoo's but wildlife and other aspects of the animal world. You live in a beautiful part of Canada and although you get more snow in the interior I hear the climate on the coast is more moderate than Ontario.
Dragon if you have never been in the snow you probably love it. As long as it was a cold dry day after a snow fall it would magnificent as I'm sure you have seen from photographs. Part of your country have snow don't they? At the moment we have cool nights and mornings and maybe 26C during the day but that won't last long. I'm outside all day tomorrow so I'm hoping it will be nice and warm. :)

Yay,another Candian!I am one myself and yes, your right. The winters here are freezing.I live in Southern ontario but it sure gets colder and it feels even colder when your walking to schoo lthrough a basic blizzard and the snow is pelting your face.Still, the upside is being able to walk into by backyard and basically dive into snow :D:):p:cool:.Im also a huge Toronto Zoo fan and I hope you have a great time here.

Thank you Marc, I was camping in Belgium many years ago. It was a nice place and nice people.
I checked the websites they look very interesting, the zoocrew one I'm going to send to my daughter as she is a biologist with a conservation authority. She will be interested in several of the articles.
Here they have done surveys on the wind turbines and it is horrifying the number of birds killed by them, I see you have the stats on the bats killed. I like bats and we have them in our garden. If I water the garden at dusk and hold the spray going up they will fly through it.
I'm afraid I don't speak Flemish or German so I can't read the other web sites but just looking at them is interesting.:)
