Hibernation in Zoos

I have a question: Do bears in zoos hibernate? I know they do at Skansen but I wondered what the case is in general and for other hibernating species too.

I don't think I've heard of any zoos in Britain hibernating their bears.

There are 4 species of bears at Lincoln Park Zoo: American black bear, Andean bear, Malayan Sun Bear and Polar Bear. The last 3 are non-hibernating. The American black bear at the zoo does not hibernate because they have a food source.

Yes, Toronto's grizzly bears "Samson" and "Shintay" hibernate every year

They usualy start to den down in October-November and each are given two indoor stalls (as well as lots of materials to make nests)

The viewing area/area aroudn the exhibit is closed down to eliminate excess noise and by March/April... there usually awake
