Would be great if Paignton were able to join the breeding programme at some point - well done HWP.Two Mishmi takin calves have been born at Highland Wildlife Park in the last month:

They are part of the breeding programme through their role as a bachelor holding... Just as valuable as any breeding group!Would be great if Paignton were able to join the breeding programme at some point - well done HWP.
Valuable in the great scheme of things - yes. But when a zoo appears to have more single sex groups, single individuals and non-breeding groups than breeding groups, it can be a tad less interesting. They are part of the breeding programme through their role as a bachelor holding... A few updates from my visit to HWP today:
- The male Musk Ox passed away a few weeks ago. This means this species can no longer be seen in the UK. Due to Brexit, no animals can currently be moved from Europe to the UK so HWP can't bring anymore Musk Ox in at present. The immediate plan is to move all the adult male Mishmi Takin into what was the Musk Ox enclosure.
- 0.0.3 European Elk have been born, although one hasn't been seen for a few days.
- 0.0.1 European Reindeer was born on Friday 21st May
- 0.0.? Amur Tiger cubs have been born, official announcement likely to be made next month
Well would be exactly 3 months upon meeting same thing happened for whipsnade. So Bozeman is a productive male..Tiger cubs was quick!
