Twycross Zoo Himalaya Exibit ?

Hi evryone

my usual thing is the gorillas but i am curious about the Himalaya Exibit.
So if people could post any info about the Exibit pleese post.


Qestion i have is when are they putting the snow lepords in the new enclosure ???? .

If you look in the Twycross gallery section there are quite a few very good photos of the nearly completed exhibit, together with descriptions and discussion.

If you check through Twycross Forum threads there is also some previous discussion about it there too.

According to the signs on the exhibit, the Snow Leopards will move in in 'late May'. As with anything involving both animals and/or construction work, this is subject to change.

the snow leopards should be in next thursday as thats when the offfical opening is and thats what there doing this special event for
 
Does anyone know if the snow leopards have been introduced to each other off-show as they are not the easiest of animals to introduce to each other.
 
they have been introduced as all ov the current animal doors are open so they can meet eachother in the current enclosure even though in most ov the press coverage, it says they will be mixed shortly
 
I have seen them together and separate so I think they must give them space from each as well. They are beautiful animals and are not at all shy. One was sat on the window ledge last Saturday quote happily.

The planting in the exhibit had just been finished last weekend. I am there again tomorrow so will let you know if I find out any info
 
That's good to know because I'd hate a Dudley style incident on opening day.
I really look forward to visiting again when they are in the new place.
