Does anyone have any info (current or historical) on breeding hippos in AUS and NZ (both common and pygmy) i.e who's related to who and how. I have some basic info, but there are ALOT of gaps....

any info will be greatly appreciated.
 
In doing some research on the net i found out that a common hippopotamus at the ZOO NEGARA in Malaysia was born at our very own ADELAIDE ZOO! - i didn't know this and found it interesting....

'KIBU' (F) born at Adelaide Zoo to current pair 'BRUTUS/ALBERT' and 'SUZY/VICTORIA' in 1989 and transferred in 1991. - she has a daughter 'CHOMBI' born in 2000.
CHOMBI herself gave birth on 22.06.07 unknown gender and i think it died. KIBU also had a male calf on 25.12.2006.

i have looked - cant find it.... it was an old news article on the birth of Chiombi which stated that her mum Kibo was born in 1989 at Adelaide Zoo.

also.... Chombi gave birth again on 17.07.2009

Does anyone know when Taronga's Hippos were all moved to Western Plains Zoo?
