Utah’s Hogle Zoo - Species List (October 28, 2023)
I noticed that Hogle Zoo did not have a complete species list on this site. What follows is a completed list of species held at the facility organized by exhibit. All species were signed and seen from my visit on October 28, 2023. The only exception to this is the Tide Pool Tank in Tidewater Cover (Rocky Shores). The animals in this exhibit are unsigned and tend to change frequently. I noted the species that are most consistently held in the exhibit.
I have included scientific names for every species. While tedious, I think this helps with language barriers and varying common names. Subspecies were included where I felt it was most applicable/needed.
The dates included next to the exhibit titles are the years each exhibit opened.
This is my first species list (and forum post), so please mind any formatting issues. I have a new found sympathy and love for those of you who post species lists! <3
