Holiday!

Good luck on your trip Jonathan, and you will be missed around here!

Safe trip Writhedhornbill, As my mother says before every trip especially on the way home.

"Pack your own bag, and watch out for strangers baring gifts at the airport"

Sounds a bit silly and oldfashioned butt so true!

Bye hornbill, we'll be expecting a report when you get back:)

Hello writing here from the fabulous Kota kinabalu!

This place is great and I've already seen plenty of bird life (zebra dove, variable sunbird, crested mynah, pacific reef egret and Glossy starling), just from the hotel! There are geckos running around (sorry, Haven't checked my book yet to find out the species!) and swifts nesting everywhere!

I sadly won't be able to visit the kinabalu national park as the trip was full (bye whitehead's trogon, spiderhunter and broadbill:()

Went to the Kota kinabalu zoo today! There was a huge aviary with lesser adjutants, great argus, bornean fireback, wreathed hornbill, Bornean rhinoceros hornbill and more! There was the female bornean Sumatran rhino, the pygmy elephants (with young), the western tarsier, the malay civets, the black lory, the brahminy kites and the king cobra (to name a few!) All were kept in nice, but not amazing conditions and I was very pleased with the zoo as a whole. Uploaded some pictures for you!

Awesome, hey your not far away from where a lot of my family lives, though Chinese aren't that large in Sabah, Two animals I'd love to see in the wild one day are the Pygmy elephant and the False Gharial or Tomistoma, have a great time, there,

Hope you get to Climb Mount Kinabalu, Dayak legen says its a Volcano that created Jungle but that isn't physically true,

G'day hornbill. Good to hear that you are in Borneo. Are you going on a river cruise to spot probosis monkeys?

The zoo, night safari and underwater worlds were all good, and I would seriously recommend manatee feeding at the zoo. They are soo cute and great pictures can be taken....

Just keep an eye on zooscene soon for a detailed report!

That's amazing! I'm so jealous, I go to Kuching every year or so but its only for family visits my parents won't let me go to any wildlife reserves, they fear for my safety from animals, I guess they are only concerned, but I still get annoyed looking forward to the report!

Sounds like you had a good time in Borneo. i am looking forward to a more detailed review and some photos.
