How Many Penguin Species Have You Seen?

After paying a short visit to SeaWorld Orlando yesterday, I can now confirm my new total of eleven species seen:
  • King Penguin
  • Gentoo Penguin
  • “Rockhopper Penguin” (species / subspecies uncertain)
  • Western Little Penguin / E. m. novaehollandae
  • Adelie Penguin
  • African Penguin
  • Humboldt Penguin
  • Magellanic Penguin
  • Chinstrap Penguin
  • Macaroni Penguin
  • Emperor Penguin
 
As of this year, I have seen eight species of penguins in-person and have had the pleasure of working with five different species.

Species I’ve seen and where:
King Penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) - kings are typically a non-sub specific species and the facilities I’ve seen them at likely have both.

Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua) - I have seen both subspecies, P. p. papua at two facilities (possibly three) and P. p. ellsworthi at two others.

Magellanic penguins at 1 collection.
Macaroni penguins at 2 collections.
Then I should see both Adelie and chinstrap penguins in Madrid next month.

Very impressive list, curious as to what zoos you saw Emperors and Adélies at? Interesting that you saw Emperors at 2 places and Adélies at 1, considering Emperors are almost always kept with them with the exception of 2 places.
