How many species have you seen in Aussie zoos this year? How many lifers (new species) did you manage to see? You can post it here as just the number of species you saw or your entire list of species seen this year. I split mine into different categories, with an exotic & native list for each animal group except for freshwater fish & invertebrates. Each list also has a sub-list such as the Exotic Mammals list which has sub-lists of Carnivores, Herbivores, Primates & Other (rodents, monotremes etc.). The sub-lists found in the Native Birds list are based on how the birds are taxonomically ordered in the ABG (Australian Bird Guide). I have a lot of lifers in 2022, mainly exotic birds, freshwater fish & invertebrates because up until this year I didn't count any fish or invertebrates & didn't count any birds I'd seen at places like Maleny Bird-World or Bird-World Kuranda.
Bold = lifer (new species)

Great idea for a thread! I'm not as observant to species seen as others, so I wouldn't be able to give a full list, but in terms of new species for 2022, I've been fortunate to see Sri Lankan Leopards at the National Zoo and Aquarium and Red-Handed Tamarin at Hunter Valley Wildlife Park for the very first time this year.

I'd also add an honourable mention to Barton's Long-Beaked Echidna, which I saw for the first time I remember in 2022. Having grown up as a Taronga regular, it's quite possible that I have seen the echidna before (although they haven't necessarily been permanently on-show throughout the last twenty-odd years I've been visiting Taronga), but just a few weeks ago I saw the echidna for the first time in his exhibit in the Tasmanian Devil house, which was my first memory of the echidna.
