I've counted 25 zoos through my life and I'm 32 yo... so I'm depressed to see these great numbers at the first page of the post, and that 15yo boy that have been in 23 zoos, including three in my own country that I never visited! Seriously, I need a rich mate that take me traveling together to zoos of the world, haha.

In total I've been to 43 zoos in my life

Two weeks ago today..I did number 750 - Kinderzoo Knie in Switzerland, together with at least 3 other zoochatters( apologies to Nick if he is one too).Considering it is supposedly a childrens zoo ,and owned by a circus, it wasnt bad at all.I had expected much less/worse!

I hit 380 a few weeks ago. Now that I'm working in an area with plenty of new zoos I was expecting to have hit 400 by the end of the year without much effort (which would be very impressive!), but that's now looking unlikely due to work commitments and cost limitations - I've not been to a zoo for almost two months! Having said that, a Spanish trip later this week might yield a couple of new places and push me closer.

I turned 16 about two weeks ago and I've now been to 89 zoological facilities :p

89. Smithsonian's Conservation Biology Institute

Sadly I only saw about 15 animals there, because although they were open, they didn't give public access to most of the animal enclosures.

To avoid clogging up this thread more (sorry about the frequent earlier postings I made), I'll go ahead and post #90, which will be in a week from today:

90. Duke Lemur Center

Argh, haha.
So, jayjds, maybe you can be that rich mate that take me from zoo to zoo XD
Actually, I would not visit zoos or animal collections if they don't have some species that I lack in my photo collection. But of course, usually they does ;-) With 90 zoos, for sure you must have seen many incredible dreamed species!

I'm far from rich- as my father is military, we have moved a lot. I've lived in nine different houses, and accessing such a wide variety of zoos is a lot easier for me. Also, most of my family is in one state, and I often pick up a few when driving to see them.

I recently reached 100 zoos and that was Zoomarine in Portugal. I visit around 25 zoos a year but mainly repeats of the same zoos with only 5-10 new zoos a year.

"Only"????... and I considere myself lucky when I can have te opportunity to visit more than one zoo at a year!

I still have a lot of catching up to do from the sounds of things! I will have visited 42 by the end of the year!!

Nearly all my zoos and aquariums lately have been revisits, because I have lived in Virginia before. That being said, I never posted 91, and just got 92 after a weekend in Florida. However, I have also gone through my list of facilities and taken out two that were pushing the definition of a zoological facility. My total now stands exactly at 90:

89. Greensboro Science Center (last year sometime)
90. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park Visitor Center and Aquarium

I think that my list is now solidified. I do count Moody Gardens Rainforest and Aquarium as two zoos, because they're two separate buildings with two separate admission prices. If anyone wants to make a case for why they shouldn't, feel free.
