How to take better pic of a indoor animal without blurring motion?

Could you elaborate a bit more? Do you mean behind glass, at what distance, etc.

It depends on your gear and your camera’s settings. Ideal aperture to use indoors would be anything between f/2.8 to f/1.8. A lens I’ve used for shooting indoors is the 70-200mm f/2.8. As for the settings, you may need to increase your shutter speed or have assistance from a tripod if allowed. The problem with increasing the shutter speed is it cause pictures to come out darker. I shoot in reptile houses and luckily most of the animals aren’t moving too much, so I can afford to shot at 1/60 and manually focus on my subject when needed :)

Does video recording make it less motion and blur?

There were some good suggestions in this thread too so might be worth a read

Being absolutely square on to the subject helps and I usually try and get the lens hood to be square against the glass to cut out reflections. Then as Julio says it’s trying to get as much light as possible without getting shakey.

I don’t find video makes a difference but then I don’t shoot video and grab from it on my camera though I have off my phone.

Watch whether your animal has some routine and predict when it stops. For example, birds often freeze momentarily every couple of seconds, regular, and you can try pressing the shutter just before the next stop should come.
