a question to y'all, since we haven't gotten anything since april, do you guys think it's over and this next animal pack will be the last dlc of the game? and possibly a bonus for final anniversary animal? like everyone in the forum seems to believe that next pack will be a bigger pack than the usual with something like 16 or 26 animals, a zookeeper collection animal pack, specifically.

I've returned here to update my post, since it was confirmed that there will be another pack,also glad that the barnyard animal pack wasn't the last, i wanted to bring the most diverse rosters as i could, as you guys can see, there are a great variety and diversity of animals that are considered the favorites of the community, i also included fully aquatic species, since modders were able to create fully aquatic species and also flying habitat aviary species, even if we don't actually have them in the game, i also fixed a mistake in the grasslands animal pack, because i recently learned that butterflies are counted as 1 species despite being divided in 5 distinct species, and there also the animals that people are often complaining about the lack of them(birds and monkeys), there are also reskins and unique animals as you guys know. To finish this, there is a good balance between well-known, popular to the general public and common in captivity and lesser-known, unpopular to the general public and either uncommon or rare in captivty.

After watching the livestream and the team leaking the thumbnail of the future pack that is most likely a highlands pack, since we got hamadryas baboon,markhor and pallas's cat that are mountain dwellers, i decided to move the hamadryas baboon to the base game, pallas's cat to the eurasia pack and markhor remains in this pack, and we also got the african leopard as our free anniversary animal but i think it fits better as a dlc animal, so i moved the leopard to the africa pack and also added the egyptian fruit bat from the twilight pack as our anniversary animal along with the rose-ringed parakeet as our first base game walkthrough exhibit animals. I'm glad they said they are not done yet with the pc version of planet zoo, i'm having a big feeling that we will likely get a pack in december of this year and a few more on next year. As you guys can see the highlands contains many mountain dwellers such the chinchilla, highland cattle that in the original was in the barnyard pack but i moved to the highlands and gave its spot to the ankole-watusi, endangered species like chinese giant salamander, françois' langur(the first langur of the game) and the pancake tortoise. And there's a great diversity in this pack as you guys can see. and i used this opportunity to bring the eurasian otter to the game in the eurasia pack removing the marbled polecat, after i added the european polecat in the highlands pack and i brought the fantail pigeon to the barnyard pack as a fancy pigeon breed.

So, i was really having high expectations about the next new pack be a highlands animal pack, i think not only me, but most of us were thinking the same like me, i was expecting a zookeepers pack to be larger than the usual, but it was revealed to have only 7 habitat animals and yet no exhibit or walkthrough exhibit animals, so i expanded to 14 animals, basically 7 plus 7, so here in this roster, there are more diverse species and from different continents, all the species i included are totally different from each other and have very distinct niches. So I added the piranha as the exhibit animal and the atlas moth and rainbow lorikeet as our walkthrough exhibit animals. About the other choices i chose those species representing a random selection of the old packs(murre representing the arctic pack, pudu representing the south america pack, potoroo representing the australia pack, arrau turtle representing the aquatic pack, squirrel representing the southeast asia animal pack, the whistling duck representing the africa pack, the bald eagle representing the north america animal pack,wildcat representing the twilight pack, macaque representing the eurasia animal pack and gray fox representing the arid animal pack. And of course the exhibit species are representing the wetlands, oceania and tropical packs. About the original animals they are in different dlcs, sifaka is in africa pack, spurred tortoise in the grasslands animal pack, dik-dik is in the arid animal pack, bear is in the south america pack, and of course the markhor is in the new pack. There are also many of the highly requested animals that weren't included in the zookeepers animal pack like(walrus,tree kangaroo, coati,howler monkey,serval, shoebill and many more) but i included them in base game and in the dlcs. so as you guys can see i expanded basically the animal packs and regular packs using the loxodonta's posts as my inspiration and i think this sounds very realistic. so, what do guys think about my base game roster and my dlcs roster? do you guys think it's great and would it all send very well? i included also aviary birds and fishes, if modders were able to do it very well, i don't see why frontier couldn't.

After so many years, we actually got a dedicated pack to american continent's animals, although in the original there are many reskins, and as in this version of the game has unlimited slots, i expanded to 14 animals, since the new model are 7 animals, no longer 8 animals per pack, now it is 14, basically 7 plus 7, i decided now to make a more diverse roster, including an aviary species, an aquarium species, an exhibit species and the rest(all habitat), since the new world was lacking a pelican, i added the most common pelican in captivity, the brown pelican, i replaced the saki with the coppery titi, and moved the rest of the clones to new packs, coyote is in the arid pack, ocelot, bush dog and rhea are in south america pack and flamingo is in the wetlands pack. so the bighorn and saki will be become mods.
 
I don't know man, I have only been playing the game for a little over a year now (I first joined after the release of the Eurasian pack), so I wasn't around for that brief time when notable species like sloths, meerkats, koalas, and penguins were absent from the game. So looking back and thinking about all the cool species that have been added since launch, as well as considering how the game is still getting support, I honestly feel (mostly) satisfied with the game's current roster. Most of the animals desired by the earlier posts in this thread are now in the game, and that will probably hold true for a lot of animals being actively requested right now.

I just think that the main thing holding this game's roster back from feeling complete is the lack of avian and marine species. I know it's not impossible for them to be added in the future, but these animals have also been unsuccessfully requested for years, and they really should have just been part of the game from launch (though fully marine animals probably would have made the most sense to be released alongside the aquatic pack).

But like I said, there is still hope. It's easy to look back at the Zoo Tycoon roster and think of what I would have done differently, since the game is "complete," but if Planet Zoo's continued support proves anything, it's that there's still plenty of animals that could be added in the future.
