Howletts Wild Animal Park Howletts Wild Animal Park News 2014

I think perhaps the photos are of Ima/Bims, who is only twelve, rather than Djalta who must be a silverback now.

I'd be interested to know people's opinions of DA's book, or is it more a collection of photographs?

Hopefully it's not overly self-congratulatory. To me, Aspinall Junior's always come across as quite holier-than-thou. Speaking to members of staff in the past, he doesn't seem to be held in as high regard as his father was.

I'm not planning on buying it, but I see that, despite being published on 1 October, it's 'currently unavailable' on Amazon and 'not in stock' at Waterstones. It is however 'in stock' at the Aspinall Foundation. It's described as a photographic history of the Foundation and it's not written by Aspinall Jnr.

I've had a flick through the book, it has some nice photos of animals in the zoo and info on them but it's not an essential purchase.

The Aspinall Foundation's work in Madagascar will now also focus on indris. That's especially cool for me as I've signed up to do a half-marathon for their Madagascar project, and only last week booked a trip to Madagascar. I specifically picked a tour which looks for indris so that's a nice coincidence.
