I've just had a recent holiday/trip to weymouth and decided to visit the sealife centre while i was there. The last time i visited was around 8/9 years ago so it was nice to go back.
While i did enjoy the day, the centre does seem to be dated and run down in parts, one being the humboldt penguin enclosure. Im not sure when it was built but from the looks of it, it is a few yrs old and i would personally like to see it redone or atleast updated! There was good info signs explaining about penguins and also about there person collection with all of their names (all 13 of them) and with there colour bands for easy identification.
The penguins themselves were very vocal with a bit of squabbling and looked scruffy but i expect this is from their moult.
Does anybody have any history on ANY of the current penguins? -
(Where they came from; "previous collections"?)
(Where offspring have been sent to; if they are a breeding group) im only assuming they are as it says who is "paired up" with who and there seems to be a good few pairs.
Thanks
Josh.
