Humbug Scrub Wildilfe sanctuary is a small (Small park section but 250 acres) Wildilfe Park around 3/2 hour out of Metro Adelaide near one tree hill . The Park was officially opened in 1905 by Thomas Paine Bellchambers, after Tom's Passing it was passed down to his Son Ray Bellchambers upon rays passing (70-80's cant remember) it was left in trust to the Animals and is now Run by a Board of Trustees.

The Sanctuary is home to the following animals
Red Kangaroos
Red Deer
Western Grey Kangaroos (KI's soon)
Tammar Wallabies
Swamp Wallaby
Soon Agile wallaby
Emu
Cape Barren Geese
Indian Peafowl
Sulphur Crested Cockatoo - all donated by elderly people that could not keep them anymore
Galahs - Same as above
Corellas - Same as above
Red Tailed Black Cockatoo
Major Mitchells Cockatoo
Cockateils
Indian Ringnecks
Peachfaces
Superb Parrots
Adelaide Rosella
Rainbow Lorikeet
Peaceful Dove
Budgies
Zebra Finches
King Quail
White Backed Magpie
Ducks
Black swan
Ringtailed Possum (P.p.pereginus and P.p convolutor)
Brushtailed Possum
Sugar Gliders
Long Nosed Potoroo
Rufus Bettong
and various other animal that are being rehabed and released

THe park is a bit out of the way, On Humbug Scrub Road off Black top Road, Smack bang in the middle of Parra Wirra RecreationPark.

at the moment we are planning a new campground (to be open end of october) and Northern Quolls

The Adelaide area is teeming with animal collections! I visited Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Zoo, Warrawong Sanctuary and Cleland Wildlife Park when I was there last year. I've said it time and time again, but with the upcoming chimpanzee exhibit at Monarto and the pair of giant pandas arriving soon at the zoo...South Australia will be a happening place for zoo fans.

and it sounds like your place is one of them ben!!!

how many pets have you got now? and did you ever get your fruitbats?
 
Never got them :( but once Gorge have enough that they want (40) Steve has said that i can have some for the park (i think 3.3.) Grey Headeds. I have heaps at home now Gliders, Ringtails (including Riverland Ringtails) Dunnarts, Plains Rats, Hopping Mice, Finches, Purple Crowned Lorikeets, Quail, and heaps of native fish!
 
i have swampies at work, thats enough, i dont have the room for them at home yet or on the block i dont hve the fences!
 
WOW 35 thats heaps! how many with exotics? Also congarts on all your work ben, and best for the furture of your park! :)
 
Ben is doing a fantastic job there, I am always impressed at his maturity and the way he conducts himself. No exotics, other than one lone (cranky) deer.
 
0.2 Post Reproductive northern quolls will be arriving this week from Sydney Wildlife World.

we recently lost our pair of Red Tailed Black Cockatoos.

I will take some photos of the aviary and open it for suggestions from members. I'm stumped at the moment. Its a fairly large and high aviary exact dimesions when i get the photos.

at the moment its an empty aviary. and please remember theres no power to it so i cant put in a waterfall :( photos tomorrow.
