I saw this for myself when I visited at the end of last month - it was far busier than at the same time last year. This is very good news, but the extra facilities are certainly needed and if this trend continues there will need to be consideration of upgrading paths and walkways and improving (possibly re-routing) the roadways in the drive-through sections. More visitors will also expect more to see, so it would be nice if they could sort the aviaries out.

Alan, i think you are right in what you say, the park will have to change, when it comes to its infrastructure as the visitor numbers rise.
Toilets, catering and retail will all need to be expanded, for far too long now it has all been centred on the visitor centre, time to join the 21st century and have kiosks at the tigers, and good to see maybe an outlet at the new polar bear enclosure.
I think the time will come that visitors will expect to see more and more, therefore i think the drive round reserves will have to change to make available more land for development, perhaps a partial drive round area, but not in your car or coach, but being driven around in some sort of road train.
Therefore i would think part of the kiang/bactrian camel/yak paddock would need to be used as a car park.
Looking at pictures of the new polar bear enclosure on flickr, as well as on the zoo website, i note the position of the pool down at the bottom of the paddock, at the furthest point from the observation tower and path, i wonder if it will be possible to view the enclosure on foot from the bottom of the hill?
