One of the largest zoos in India and opened since 1963. The zoo covers 283 acres and has much success breeding local wildlife including Indian Rhinos and Asian Lions.

Two of the zoo's largest enclosures are the Lion (30 acres) and Tiger (42 acres) Safaris. These exhibits can only be traveled a safari van that also travel through the smaller Sloth Bear Safari (10+ acres) and Bison or Gaur Safari (5 acres).

I found out about this zoo on asianelephant.net, the elephant exhibit looks very large and I'm impressed by the adult bull Vajana.

@Kiang: "..., two indian jaguar..." Wow, great. They discovered and breed a new species, but no-one in the zoo world take notice...:)

Bhutan Lorry Pheasant? Any relation to the Tibetan Double-decker Bus Partridge? Pregnant Emus? Do they lactate as well?
