Hi guys,

My name is Daniel I am from Cuba. I am very interested in becoming a zookeeper I would love to get some advices and recommendations in how to become one because I have no clue.

I went to a local Zoo looking for any kind of job, and I got rejected very fast.

I studied psychology, and mathematics. I know it has nothing to do with zoology, but I do study a lot about animal's behavior, health and so on.

Oh! My favorite animal is the Chital (for now)

Welcome to ZooChat and about becoming a zookeeper, keep trying because it´s one of the nicest job there is ( I can know because I was one myself ).
By the way, in which zoo did you ask and can you give some more information about this zoo because news from Cuba is rare to find on ZooChat !!!!

@VogelCommando I did applied for Zoologico de 26, which is an urban zoo located right in the center of Havana City, and it lacks of good care. It doesn't have prepared employees, lot of negligence.

I am now in Naples, FL for six months. I heard there is an small tropical zoo here so I want to volunteer and see what can I learn.
