Yes it is a great zoo. I was there on September 12, 2001. The reason I remember the date is because I was flying home on September 11, 2001 at the time of the infamous terrorist attack using commercial jets. The captain informed us that all planes had been ordered to land and we were diverting to Wichita. We could not fly out until September 13, so on the 12th I went to the zoo. The mayor of Wichita had generously declared that all stranded 9-11 visitors could visit any of the city's museums or attractions for free. I was not expecting much but was surprised at the high quality of the zoo.
