IDA "Worst Zoos for Elephants" 2024

Update: Cora (The Asian Elephant) has passed away, not sure what the plans are, but I hope they move Tembo somewhere else and then allow their remaining Hippo to access the space before they tear it all down. (There is a gate leading into the outdoor Hippo yard adjacent to the elephant exhibit). Are there any logistical issues?

And some ppl/ARA have the nerve to call the decision a garbage/cowardly move as if LA wanted them out! This has to be a very emotionally difficult choice for LA and showed they cared for the welfare of Billy and Tina rather than them being one of their iconic headliners or visitor drawers of their zoo.
 
I was hoping to visit Topeka in late September and Cora's passing right after was salt in that wound.

Certain activists love moving goal posts in this kind of way -- you only gave in because of our pressure but you didn't mean it enough!
