Hello everyone - I'm new here. Having browsed the site before joining, one thing seems to come up a lot in discussions about Australian zoos, and that is restrictive import laws. I gather there are quite a few species that Australian zoos would like to exhibit - I've seen capybaras, okapi and impalas mentioned I think - but cannot because there are none in the country.
I'm wondering if someone could tell me more, about why it's such a problem for Australian zoos and specifically what it means they can't do?
