Impossible mixed enclosures

This combination is at a few zoos, usually with white rhinos but I think there is somewhere that does it with black rhinos too? Which might be the real "impossible" combination.
Cleveland used to have Cheetahs mixed with Black Rhinos in the 90's.

This one looks impossible:

If the hoofstock don't have babies I could potentially see this. Although as others have said, zebras are Jenks.

To respond to others, I could see cheetahs and white rhinos leaving each other alone. As a rule though, it seems cats shouldn't mix with anything.

How did it go? How long did it last?

To be honest I have no clue, I only found this out quite recently.
I did come across another photo on a website (all in Dutch) which refers to a newsletter article. This article written in the magazine De Tijd (27th of June 1937) where they mention this new combination.

Cheetahs were not always long lived in those days. I can imagine that mix depended on the temperament of the hippopotamus. I know of a hippo/zebra mix that eventually went horribly wrong….

It’s probably a boring point of view but I think there’s great merit in quality exhibits which give enrichment and are educational and enjoyable for visitors - just a thought given your threads focus on handling tigers and lions, pairing up animals who might kill each other, mixing sub species or live prey feeding in a restricted space. Isn’t there enough wow to be had in seeing amazing wild animals beautifully exhibited based on their welfare, with a conservation focus?

Yes I agree, I’m just asking questions that pop into my head. Im not a zoo expert and I’m just curious on what’s been done, what is seen as right/wrong, what has worked etc. This place is about asking zoo related questions (and other things) and that is what I’m doing.

It's not the hoofstock that are at risk in these mixes, it's the cheetahs.

In November 2015, the Primorsky Safari Park in Russia gave their Siberian Tiger "Amur" a goat called "Timur" one day for dinner, but instead of being dinner, Timur became his best friend and lived happily together until Timur's death four years later from complications from an attack that Amur did to him, but that happened way back in January 2016 and had happily lived in the same enclosure together since.

With an unusually pointed focus on mixed species exhibits and how zoos obtain animals - both topics discussed at length on this site. It feels like you're feeling out ideas for some sort of project?

... so they didn't happily live together. That is animal cruelty to the goat.

The tiger only attacked the goat because the goat was wanting to fight in a playful way. That was only two months into their four-year relationship and they were fine together otherwise.

On reading a couple of articles, they were only together a couple of months until the increased aggression from the goat irritated the tiger enough to wound him. The two were never placed back together following Timur's recovery per what I've just read.

I’m not I’m just curious. I don’t have the money nor the space. What’s wrong with asking questions? I feel like I’m getting attacked.

As @Great Argus said, a lot of your questions have been answered at length on the forum before; there are entire long-running threads devoted to mixed species.

I only recently learnt that you can search on here. I wasn’t aware that some alright existed. People make mistakes, there’s no need to have a go at me for just being curious. I’m learning, is this not a place to learn?

No one is having a go at you. How is letting you know you can already find answers to many of your questions on here attacking you? All of your posts have been ones you've started; take the time to look around on here, there's plenty to read and learn from.

I know now, I wasn’t aware of that when I first joined. I’m just saying a lot of people have been commenting about the types of questions I’m asking. I’m just learning. That’s why I feel attacked.
