I have developed a hobby - or is it a dirty secret? Everytime I see an article posted on some news website where zoos are criticized and "animal rights" people start posting comments attacking zoos, I post my own comments.
In the thread on the L.A. elephant exhibit, someone posted a link to an article and pointed out all the stupid comments there.
It seems the animal activists muster enough people to make these comment boards appear as though the community is against the zoo.
I can't stand it.
So there's my secret.

No one can speak up for zoos better than this group!
You don't need to live in the city where the news comes from, usually you don't need to register on the site even. And I created a separate @gmail account I use just for these so no one harasses me.
If you see such an article, post a comment,
Here's one where the main commenter is trying to stop the Dallas Zoo elephant exhibit:

Here's one for L.A. Zoo:

I'm sure there are plenty.
