Inaccurate range maps

Has anyone ever seen inaccurate range maps depicted at zoos? I saw two at Chapultapec Zoo. One showed coatis well above the Arctic Circle and another showed brown bears in the eastern US.

Arctic circle is a bit much :D A lot of roadside/non-AZA zoos have inaccurate ones, they're mostly done by the same company. I don't think I've seen one that bad, though.

Worth keeping in mind that even "gold standard" range maps are often quite bad. For example, the IUCN map for North America Porcupines has them missing from places where they are very common (northern Wisconsin, Michigan, central Appalachians), but shows them present in places where they don't occur -- southern Indiana, Tennessee/North Carolina, etc. In general, the bigger the scale the worse the map will be.
