South African Department of Forestry ,Fishes and the Environment (DFFE) has announced that 2023,499 Rhinos were illegally killed across the country. This figure represents a worrying increase of over 10% against 2022 poaching losses, Particularly Hluhlowe-iMfolozi Park in the Kwa Zulu Natal Province which lost 307 Rhinos to poaching in 2023
