Independent Zoo Enthusiast Society

The cost of the IZES 20th-anniversary event will be £29
This includes entry to the two collections [the Rare Species Conservation Centre and The Wildwood Trust (Kent)]; buffet evening meal at both venues, and the various talks/presentations/films.
A full agenda should be available shortly.

Zoochatters will probably have seen on another thread the news about the impending closure of the RSCC (Sandwich).
Though our society is naturally saddened by this news, we were informed in advance of the public announcement and assured that our meeting in early October can still go ahead as planned.

Thanks for confirming Mike. Not sure if I've emailed already but if not please mark me down as interested - I'll email again to be safe!

Has anyone got any recommendations for hotels? I'm thinking just a travel lodge job but if anyone has any they would recommend I would prefer that!

why dont you ask the attraction itself it might have a special deal going with a local b&b . on a bigger picture perhaps its a topic we could start

A reminder to those attending the IZES meeting on Friday 2 October:
The event will commence at the RSCC, Sandwich, at 7:30 pm.
The car park will be available from 6:30 pm onwards.

Address: A256 Dover Road Roundabout, Sandwich CT13 0DG.
For those who are not familiar with the location, note that the entrance is immediately off the roundabout.

Just in case anyone's not aware, you can no longer pay for the Dartford crossing at toll booths.

It has to be paid, over the internet or by phone, in advance or short arrears (by midnight the day after you cross) otherwise a significant penalty notice might be on the doorstep by the time you get back from Kent.

You've been warned. Anyone particularly grateful can buy me a drink at the event :D.

Looking forward to this, My first zoo enthusiast event! I don't have any surplus guidebooks but I do have some surplus zoo postcards to trade if anyone's interested.
