New chimpanzee complex nears completion at the Indianapolis Zoo

This exhibit has as much potential for division as the orangutan center, but it does sidestep the primary criticism of the latter - the chimpanzees will have outdoor access, even if the primary focus looks to be artificial climbing structures again, including the "guard tower" as @PercideRolo well described. Still, as hideous as Milwaukee's own cage-like climbing structures look, the bonobos clearly enjoy it, and a large group of chimpanzees will be very charming and fun to watch in any exhibit, so I think in some ways this still fulfills the promise of being a bold and innovative chimpanzee habitat while still being nowhere near the standard of Kansas City. Whether it turns out to work well or is a disaster, I hope this inspires some other zoos to outdo Indianapolis.

My main problem in how small the transfer chutes are. Aren’t chimps known to throw poop at people which admittedly would be very funny but whatever.

But what you said is the same from me.
