What do you all think about the Chimps? Indy Zoo is my local zoo and I love a lot about it but I'm not sure how I feel about this... to say the least. Definitely very expensive... (worth it??)

Per the zoo’s website, Giant Tortoises are coming to the zoo in 2025.

On March 11th, the zoo announced they started construction on the new Aldabra giant tortoise/Galapagos giant tortoise exhibit which will open to the public sometime in September. Some of the tortoises will be temporarily on display near the flamingo exhibit during the summer.

On April 26th, the zoo announced they acquired 2 slender-tailed meerkats named Almond and Hazelnut which are on exhibit.

On May 12th, the zoo announced that a cownose ray named Doodle was born which is now on display in Ocean's touch tank exhibit.

On May 22nd, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) Himalayan red panda named Maiya from Potawatomi Zoo in Indiana which is now on exhibit.

On May 29th, it was announced that the zoo transferred their (0.1) aardvark named Adazee to Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium in Missouri.

* Also not specifically 2025 news, but the zoo acquired a (1.0) southern tamandua named Salvador from Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in Ohio in mid-November 2024 which is an animal ambassador.
