Jemima Parry-Jones , who ran the Centre in Newent Gloucestershire , founded by her father Philip Glasier , sold up and moved to America with much of the collection several years ago . The intention was to run , in partnership , a collection in the USA .

This venture did not work out and she returned to the UK with the birds and her black labradors ( anyone who visited the Centre would be familiar with the dogs ) . The birds were put in temporary quarters and a new site was acquired on an orchard in Gloucestershire . The last I read was there there were problems with planning for this site .

It now appears that she is back at Newent , don't know what happened to the people who bought the Centre from her . A lot of work is required to bring the Centre up to its previous standard but it will re-open on February 1st .

What a disturbing series of unfortunate events. I wish all the best luck to the revived center in the UK!

Glad to see Jemima back in the U.K and back at Newent, think thats the last we will here about a walk through Parrot Aviary at Newent now.

me and a small gang went over last Sunday to help out with weeding etc. The previous owner had put parrots into some of the avaries, which were wooden. The Eagle barns are ruined and there is a lot of work to be done. Ms Parry Jones has done a fab job to get organiesed and as usual her birds welfare is top priority. Go visit, support the centre, there is still lots to be done so bare with them. There were a beautiful pair of Black eagles in the weatherings, hoping to re vist later on and see them fly. Motzart the European eagle owl is back, he is 37 now.

If you do visit please note how neat the owl courtyard is, we weeded that!!:)

First visited the centre about 3 or 4 years ago, when Ms Parry was still there. I was really impressed with the amount of birds of prey I'd not seen before, particularly Steller's Sea Eagles; King Vultures; Lappet-faced Vulture; White-Bellied Sea Eagles, oh, the list was endless! ..... I had heard she was back in the UK, and starting up a new centre. Glad to hear she's been able to get back to Newent.:)
