Hi, I'm Dirk Plug.
I live in The Netherlands, right next to Amsterdam.
All my life I've been keen on visiting zoos and I've been playing zoo games for some time now. (I quit the ones on Facebook, except MyZoo)
Since I met my wife Sonja, we've been visiting zoos all over Europe and I have taken loads of photographs.
Those can be viewed on my website www.dirkplug.com/dierentuin. I know I still have lots of photos to progress, but they will be there in the near future.
For more than 5 years I had a membership card for the Antwerp en Planckendael Zoo in Belgium, Planckendael has a Koala exhibit (which is my favorite animals) and we have adopted a koala for a few years.
With this member card we were also able to go to Bleidorp (the Rotterdam zoo) and Artis (the Amsterdam zoo). So most of the visits went to these 4 zoos.
As we are spending a lot of time in England, you'll find a lot of English zoos as well.
In 2003 we (my wife and I) visited America for the 25th anniversary cruise for Garfield, and we went to SeaWorld.
Our goal, on every holiday, is to visit as many zoos as we can, but at least one for every mayor town we go to.
As for The Netherlands, we are a very small country, but we have a lot of zoos. Even we did not visit all of them.
Other hobbies of mine are: Garfield, I love this cat, and we have met up with Jim Davis and his crew on the cruise in 2003.
And LEGO, I'm a huge LEGO collector. I have every Star Wars set that LEGO sold, and loads of extra SW sets and models.
And several smaller series like Vikings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monster Fighters, Dino Attack, etc.
For the past 11 years, Sonja and I have been working for LEGO World, the biggest LEGO event in the World.
And we worked for The LEGO Show in England, which was held in Manchester in 2011 and 2012.
On a daily basis, I work at Paradiso, the famous venue in Amsterdam. I'm one of the IT crew.
In the weekends I like to play Bass and Sing with the band Horseflower.
