Intrusive Ads

It can be tricky with mobile ads, but can you try touching and holding the ad to see if a menu pops up which allows you to copy the advert URL and then post it here or send it to me?

It's not giving me a URL, it just appears as an image file when I try to copy or share it to get a link. Not sure if anything in the attached image helps at all, seems to be the best I can do.

After not getting one for months, I got another one of these ads, for Coca-Cola, with a much larger border than usual. Bizarrely, the ad didn't lead to anything when I clicked on it, just a blank page:

data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPAAAAAAAAAAACH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==

Another one today:

cottbrand.com/en-us?utm_source=9199516&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=31876440

Unusable how?

Could you share screenshots or a screen-capture video?
I am unable to click on anything around the borders of the screen, and then once it progresses the entire lower half of my screen is covered by an add, making it basically impossible to post anything. I'll try to get a screenshot next time it happens.

I've been getting them again over the last couple of days, and now I am unable to click on anything on the page while the ad is active and am forced to re-load the page in order to do anything.

I've been getting these constantly for the past week, it's making the site extremely difficult to use.

This is a new one - literally going both above and behind parts of the page. It moved as I scrolled down, variously alternating being in front or behind parts of the actual site.

Looks like some kind of pop-over that got it's z-index wrong. The z-index is what website developers use to determine which elements on a web page display on top of other elements and which are below.

Some of the graphical elements will have higher z-indexes, but seems the ad creator didn't specify a high enough z-index to be all the way on top - or else they were trying to be tricky. Seems a bit strange in any case.

I've had some dodgy adverts lately which redirect the entire page to some gambling site - which is something I've complained to my ad provider about. That behaviour is completely unacceptable and I'm also supposed to have a block on all gambling related adverts preventing them from being shown on my site - so it seems something has slipped through somewhere.

If you see the advert again and manage to get a URL or link for it, please let me know.
