wow. This all sounds so yummy! I was getting ready to make travel plans so I could see the sock machine museum then I read about this. eeek! hahahahaha. My mom keeps teasing me saying I should try a Moose Tongue Burger. No thanks, ma! (for the record, she doesn't eat those, she was reading a book that took place in Alaska)
that'll be the Bushman Centre, a depressingly run-down hovel in the middle of nowhere. More a decrepit cafe than a restaurant. They do indeed serve up possum pies and they are just as bad-tasting as they sound! I believe they also have wallaby pies and other wild-y foods. Next to the shack are a couple of small paddocks for tahr and deer. Its right by the highway so you'll pass it on your way between Queenstown and Greymouth (there's only one road). It has a giant sandfly hanging outside so you can't miss it.
