Is it possible to view all the species held by a particular zoo eg London.

Or can you only search by species to see who holds them?

i hope that makes sense!

I think to get a stock list for a particular copllection you have to be an ISIS member.

The following website lists ISIS records by institution but it is a little out of date. It also doesn't help that many facilities have incomplete inventories on ISIS.

It looks as though Thrigby hall in Great Yarmouth have registered to ISIS now.

As the date to implementation of ZIMS draws nearer and nearer more and more zoological institutions are joining ISIS. I am confident that the new software will also overcome some of the major shortfalls in ISIS operation that made several big name zoos leave the organisation (e.g. Berlin Zoo, Magdeburg Zoo).

It is all to do with the increased capacity of ZIMS and more reliable and user friendlier resources. Also the data reconciliation tools in ZIMS are much better and preclude the digitting of incorrect data into the system (f.i. recording individuals as G.giraffa peralta and another of the same subspecies as G.giraffa antiquorum hybrid).

I sincerely hope that us interested parties may still use parts of ZIMS when it becomes operational. Anyone know more about the latter?

ZIMS will only be available to ISIS member institutions. Summarised data, the equivalent of the current species holdings lists, will continue to be available on the ISIS web site.
