United Kingdom IZES Hamerton meetup 2019

So, which of us is going to address the
A very enjoyable day, at an excellent zoo. Thanks to @Tim Brown and @MikeG for organising, and to @Andrew Swales for hosting.

I second this statement wholeheartedly!

It is always a pleasure to visit Hamerton and also always a pleasure to catch up with like-minded people, so having the opportunity to do both at the same time is a privilege.

Just in case anyone was wondering...
The fire and explosion yesterday afternoon was indeed about a mile north-east'ish of the park. It was a combine (harvester) fire. The driver managed to get the machine out of the crop, and he (and his dog!) are both fine - but the combine itself was totaled.

Very glad to hear that nobody was hurt

Thanks to all for a fantastic day. See you all again in 2020 hopefully :)

Yes, thanks for letting us know what happened and that he is ok. And many thanks for hosting and being generous with your time.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Hamerton, and obviously it was great to see everyone and meet some others for the first time.

Massive thanks to everyone who organised it, even bigger thanks to those that gave me lifts! ;) Until next year. :)

I would just like to say a big thank you to Tim Brown and Mike Grayson for organising as I know just how much work is involved in something like this.I would also like to give a huge thanks to Andrew Swales for his superb hosting of the event and giving up his time so freely,as I know he could have been doing many other things instead of hosting us!
