IZES - Zoo Grapevine Magazine

Hi, I was just wondering who to contact about changing address? Thanks :)
 
The latest issue is Summer 2017, and it consists of 50 large, glossy pages with a plethora of wonderful articles. It is the biggest issue yet and Chairman Tim Brown states in his welcome address that "we are adding members/subscribers at a rate that we haven't seen since the early days of IZES". Great news...as who wouldn't want the world's greatest magazine arriving in their mailbox 4 times annually? Included in the latest issue:

- 6 pages of Zoo News from around the world
- 6 pages on Dudley Zoo (a history of the facility's 80 years)
- 5 pages on a trio of zoos near Bordeaux, France
- 3 pages on a fascinating topic: mammal longevity in zoos
- 4 page review of Bearizona (Williams, Arizona)
- 6 page article called "Visiting Dolphinaria in Japan - Part Two"
- 3 pages on Barbets (including breeding the Gilded Barbet at Walsrode)
- 6 new zoo books are reviewed
- plus more odds n' ends
 
To add to @snowleopard 's great review I would also add that this issue seems to have got the ratio of IZN and Zoo Grapevine articles quite evenly balanced. The last two issues have been trying to find a happy medium and now I think the editorial team have hit the status quo. It should/does now appeal to the enthusiast and professional on an even keel.

So if anybody isn't already a member then I recommend you sign up as soon as possible.
 
After two issues of mine went missing I'm happy to say that it even manages to find its way to the lawless wastelands of Stoke-on-Trent now.:p

Should also add in the news section a couple of juicy exclusives too

I think the holy water and garlic powder we sprinkle on copies going to Stoke-on-Trent may have solved the problem...

Definitely a good decision. I joined earlier this year, and it's really nice to receive an interesting, attractive magazine in the post. The latest one reached me in Poland this afternoon.

- 6 pages of Zoo News from around the world
- 5 page review of Italy's premier zoological facility: Parco Natura Viva
- 4 page review of Spain's Oasys Theme Park (with 200 species in its collection)
- 4 page excerpt from the book Moscow Zoological Park: Pages of History
- 5 page article titled 'The History of the Thylacine in Captivity'
- plus lots more!

I quite liked the article about ring-tailed lemurs. Yes, a boring species to us but one that probably should be better managed according to Chris Moiser. I never realised there were so many on implant contraceptives which may affect reproduction when it's needed.

The Moscow piece was brilliant as well, thoroughly enjoyed this issue.
 
Well I tried just now to finally sign up. Got an error message saying the merchant login id is invalid or the account is inactive. I guess it's not meant to be.

That darned website...always causing problems! But there's more than one way to skin a cat - or join a zoo society.
Anyone having problems, please email raresoulvinyl@btconnect.com and other methods can be sorted.
It's worth the trouble in the end :)
 
If MikeG solved the problem of getting Zoo Grapevine to Stoke, he can do anything :D

Kind words, old bean, but the one thing I can't seem to do is...keep the IZES on-line payment system functioning properly!
How I long for the good old days of the quill pen, a sturdy envelope and a postal order...:)
