There's a lot of information about Ark Nova, and then 2-3 paragraphs and 2-3 photos about each of the other board games. Here are the 6 that are discussed, in the order they appear in the article:

Ark Nova - launched in 2021 and an incredibly popular game

Barenpark - 2017

Zoo-ography - 2021

New York Zoo - 2020

Zooloretto - 2007

Zombie Zoo - 2013

As a side note, I've never played any of these board games.

Thanks! Ark Nova does look like the best out of those, and has several expansions. Board Game Geek has photos of all of them.

Sounding good! I've had to chase up this issue as I've had nothing since the summer. The zoos of Portugal, Ventura & Fen Bell will certainly be interesting to read about.

I took out a subscription for this year. Unfortunately, I have to pay so much import duty that the price almost doubles. I hope it's a one-off and not with every copy.

I have a subscription for several years now ( and living in Belgium to), but have never had to pay an import fee since Brexit. This time, completely out of nowhere, I also got an import bill. But I challenged it and asked for a revision, that they approved very soon afterwards thanks to all the envelopes I still had and proof of payment of my subscription, which eliminated the import fee. So here's the tip; don't immediately pay everything Bpost indicates as 'import duties'. This way they make quick (unjustified) money.

Thanks for the information. Good to know, but I only have 2 options: pay or if I don't, they will send it back. I cannot provide a proof via envelopes as this is the first time I subscribed.
But I have now challenged it and am waiting for a response.

This is becoming more and more of an administrative tangle: having paid an extra 31.96 euros for receiving my first copy and my request for a revision being answered in the negative, I now have to pay another 23.13 euros import fee for the second issue. It's pretty clear that I won't do that again.

Very annoying..I understand your pain. Even though we put "no value- gift" on the export document in an attempt to ameliorate costs Belgian customs have come up with an entirely spurious charge ,perhaps we would be better putting a minimal value on the document. To charge that amount is simple WRONG and unfair. It seems Belgium and Austria are the ones taking a punitive approach to customs charges..its a scandal but quite honestly i dont know what to do next. On a technicality the magazine IS actually F.O.C. and a person pays for the membership of our society. Apologies...its already become a huge job putting customs stickers on these magazines anyway, clearly Belgian customs are not at ease with Brexit at all ( I certainly didnt vote for it).

No need to apologise or give money back Tim. It is clear that the fault lies with the Belgian Post which interprets these regulations far too strictly. I have filed a complaint with the mediator.

Belgian customs are not at ease with Brexit at all ( I certainly didnt vote for it).

In the opposite direction, it is VERY variable too.
Regular imports from Denmark, the US and Australia come straight in to us with no interruption.
Every item imported from Germany to the UK, is now held up by UK Customs and subject to charges.
It is not just the Belgians and Austrians...

A thoroughly good read as always. I particularly enjoyed the Bug Parc (which has solidified my plans to visit) article and fascinating to read about the history of different hartebeest across Europe and how they bred and their numbers fluctuated over the years.
