The Zoo announced via the Facebook page the birth of three lion cubs! They were born on the 10th, their mother is Tamu who also had the last cub and their father is Catali, a first time dad and the younger male at the Zoo (Mshoni is the father of the last cub).

A privately funded aquarium will be built in near by St.Augustine.

The plans themselves are modest but I hope it does well. The aquarium was originally going to be built near the traditional old city tourist district until various NIMBY groups had it blocked.

This reads less as an aquarium and more as an adventure park with marine life "rides."

Madini, the gorilla, gave birth last night at 8:35pm. The new mother and infant are already out on exhibit with the rest of the troop.
