The Zoo's Fall Edition of the "Wild" has just been released.
Births & Hatchings: March 31, 2015 - June 5, 2015
0.0.2 Gray Short-Tailed Oppossum
1.1.0 Black & White Ruffed Lemur
1.0.0 Mandrill
0.1.0 Western Lowland Gorilla
0.0.7 Marbled Teal
0.0.7 Orinoco Goose*
0.0.1 Honduran Boat-Billed Heron
0.0.2 West African Hadada Ibis
0.0.1 Kori Bustard
0.0.1 Warren's Girdled Lizard*
0.0.545 Striped Newt
* - First Time at the Zoo
In addition, the Blue Eyed Black Lemurs are on public display on a rotating basis with the Black & White Ruffed Lemur family. As a result, the Ring-Tailed Lemurs and lone Black & White Ruffed Lemur have been introduced with the Angolan Colobus Monkeys by Lions.
It looks like last year Amur Leopard cubs are going to be gone soon as they being crate trained right now.
The Stanley Cranes have been moved to the Bongo exhibit as their former exhibit/former Nile Crocodile exhibit is being prepped for "African Flamingos" (I do not know which species though).
A lone male Bontebok has been introduced to the African veldt exhibit with the White Rhinos and Kudus.
I forgot to mention earlier that the zoo had two Marabou Storks hatch this past spring and are already fledglings now. They are with their parents on the veldt while last year chicks are in the side exhibit in River Valley aviary.
The zoo still only has two African Elephants since Moki and Chana left for Seneca Park Zoo. Sheena and Ali have been out together everyday, enjoying each other company. However, I do not know when and where the zoo will get the two other elephants to fulfill AZA requirements.
The Emus are back in mix with the Red Kangaroos and Tammar Wallabies after being temporarily separated from the marsupials when the wallabies arrived.
*Edit - Update on the Manatee Center
Here is the concept for the Manatee Center from the Zoo's Facebook page.
This project is being built by Perry McCall Construction, the same local firm that built the Land of the Tiger, Asian Bamboo Gardens, the Komodo Dragon exhibit, Giraffe Overlook, Savanna Bloom Gardens, and Play Park.
